Using Mason Jars with Primitive Decorations

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

Mason Jars are just one of many items used when decorating with Primitive Decorations.  Of the many different type items that are available to decorate with, mason jars are one of the most versatile.

Recently we used a primitive decorated mason jar to decorate our bathroom AND to save money!  I bet you never thought decorating could save you money huh?  Here is what we did.We took a mason jar, put a pump lid on it, went to our local supply store and bought a bulk supply of hand soap, and now we can use our Primitive Mason Jar as a decorative piece, and we save money by being able to reuse it with the bulk supply of hand soap we purchased.

Another way to use Primitive Jars and Mason Jars is to fill them with flour, sand, pebbles or any non-flammable material. Next, tie a piece of Primitive cloth around the top, then place a tea light candle on top and you have a very unique and beautiful candle.  Some Mason Jars are colored which can also enhance the beauty of the flame from the candle.

There are many different uses for Primitive Jars and Mason Jars.  We would love to hear about how you use Primitive Jars and Mason Jars when decorating your home with Primitive Decorations.

I use Mason jars for EVERYTHING. I dried cranberries, orange slices, apple slices, etc. and filled them with those items. Put a rusty jar lid on top and tied a piece of coffee-dyed cheesecloth around it and it’s adorable on my counter. I also hung wire very snugly around the top under the ridge and hung them from a big tree in my back yard for nice candle light. I also put a pump lid on top, made a little wooden tag that says lotion, tied a homespun ribbon and now my lotion looks pretty in my prim bathroom.
