In a recent post, Newly Remodeled Bathroom with Primitive Decorations, we talked about how we had updated our bathroom and added some new Primitive Decorations. Shower Curtains, Boxes, Willow Trees, Mason Jars with soap in them, are just a few common things you might see in a bathroom decorated with Primitives. But Shutters?
YES SHUTTERS! The lady of the house got this idea from a friend of hers and at first I didn’t know about the idea of having Primitive Shutters on the wall in the bathroom. But, as usual she was right and it looks great! As you can see, we found some hangers with stars on them and fastened them to the wooden shutters with screws. “TIP” When you use screws or nails as fasteners, you can use a marker to color it and make it blend in with whatever you are fastening. Next we found a tobacco stick, or as we say in our part of the country, tobacker stick, and placed it on the hangers.
Then we had a nice place to hang a decorative Towel for use or for show. We chose a solid black towel. By the way, if you don’t have a clue as to what a tobacco stick is, email us or ask in a comment and we’ll be glad to explain.
You’ll notice the middle of the shutters seem kind of bare and we, or I should say she, is trying to decide on what to use to decorate between the shutters. We have many different options and ideas and that’s the most wonderful thing about Primitive Decorations, the possibilities are endless!
So while we are deciding on how to finish off the wall between the shutters, we would love to hear your ideas or suggestions on what to do. Your ideas and opinions are welcome!
We would also love for you to check out one of our sponsers. Vintage Tub and Bath offers some great deals and you won’t be dissapointed with their products and services. Check them out by clicking the link below.
