Primitive magazine racks are not usually as big as modern magazine racks because household magazines were not as abundant a century ago as they are now. Some antique magazine racks even doubled as letter holders, they were so small.
Nevertheless, a primitive magazine rack is a perfect accessory to the country home. There are basically two styles: a wall mount magazine rack and the more common floor rack.
A wall mount magazine rack is convenient, but smaller than floor racks if you want to really use it. If you're looking for a primitive wall mount magazine rack, be aware that you may not get many magazines in it. Use it instead for a display of your most recent favorite country decorating magazines and books.

Primitive magazine racks may be made of wood or metal. A wood floor magazine rack may be more practical, since there will be no rust or fancy scrolls that can be hard to clean. Most floor magazine racks can be useful as well as decorative. Again, these make an effective display for your country decorating magazines and books.
If your wood floor magzine rack is an antique, be sure to find an area that is in the visual path but away from actual foot traffic. Like most antiques, it will be sturdy, but worn through time so you don't want to take a chance of getting it broken.
Wall mount magazine racks can take some thought to find the right mounting place. Put it where it can be seen, but is not in the way of other furniture.
Whichever you choose, a magazine rack of the right style can make an impressive addition to your home.
