Using primitive baskets as a decorative piece can be done in many ways. There are those that are intriguing enough and big enough to be used as wall décor. Smaller ones can have small clay pots with soil to be planted with miniature flowers and miniature garden ornaments.
Bigger woven baskets can be hanged on old wooden shutters to create that laid back feeling that primitive decorators are aiming for. There are also a lot of people who resort to infusing a garland with a basket for added appeal. For outdoor use, primitive woven baskets can be covered in grapevine for a romantic touch.
For tabletop primitive décor, a basket can be adorned with different primitive design elements such as tarnished metal stars, nautical implements, simple inspiring messages and common antique tools. If the finishing of the basket already has a rustic appeal, it would be better as is. However, those who wish that the baskets are more coordinated with their existing designs can alter the finishing of the basket. For instance, they can paint it and stain it or even tarnish it. Others like using the same kind of wood for the woven baskets as part of décor but others do just as well even if they mismatched the types of woven baskets.
